Philosophy of Care

The Orchards Aged Care team makes every effort to provide the highest quality of care to attain all possible comfort, independence and optimise the well-being of the people in our services. Residents enjoy a maximum quality of life and live in a warm, friendly and caring environment. We respect their rights to privacy and independence.

We assist our residents to keep physically, emotionally and spiritually well, whilst focussing on their capacities and abilities

not on any actual or perceived deficiencies and losses.

The Orchards Aged Care is committed in providing Person-Centred Care and support. Residents have the right to make decisions about their daily care and lifestyle.

The Orchards Aged Care philosophy of care is based on the principle of resident autonomy as promoted by the Aged Care Accreditation standards and the Commonwealth of Australia Charter of Residents Rights and Responsibilities.

The residents’ opinion is sought, their values respected and their dignity maintained. The residents have the rights to receive information in a manner they can understand so they can make choices about their care.
